What is it?
A test that measures the electrical
activity of muscles.
What is the purpose?
To determine the degree and site of nerve compression. Measures the nerve cnduction path. To evaluate disorders of the muscles and nerves.

How is it done?
NCV-Patch
like electrodes are placed on various locations on the skin, over
nerves. One electrode gives the nerve a very mild electrical charge and
the other records the resulting activity.
What happens afterwards?
There should be no special instructions or after effects.
What are the risks of this procedure?
Very
minimal risk of infection since it is an invasive procedure.
Does it hurt?
You
may feel very small electrical shocks, although these are usually so
small that they cannot be felt.
